Dr. Rollan Roberts
Senior Pastor
Pastor Rollan Roberts grew up in Sacramento, California. He and his wife Debbie were married in 1976 and have three children and seven grandchildren. They have served the Lord in Birmingham, Alabama (1976-1984) and Pensacola, Florida (1984-1988). The Lord led them to VBC/VBA in November 1988.
Pastor Roberts graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 1988 with a major in Bible and a minor in Biblical languages – Greek and Hebrew. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from PCC in 2006. You will find his ministry to be balanced, consistent, and inspirational to the entire family. In addition to pastoring VBC and being administrator of Victory Baptist Academy, he was also elected to the West Virginia State Senate in 2018.
Samuel Robinson
Assistant Pastor
Sam Robinson was raised in a Christian and military home. In 1986, after his father’s service in the U.S. Navy, his family moved and settled in West Virginia, where they would begin attending Victory Baptist Church. That fall, Sam was enrolled at the Victory Baptist Academy where he would graduate in 1993. It was at VBC where Sam would trust Christ as Saviour at the age of 17. After graduation, he attended Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL. In 1995, Sam surrendered to the call to preach and enrolled at the Massillon Baptist College in Massillon, OH. While at MBC, Sam met Wendy, and they were married in 1997. After graduation in 1998, with a Bachelor of Divinity degree, Sam began his service in the ministry. Over the past 26 years, he has served as an Assistant Pastor (2 yrs), Evangelist (8 yrs), and Senior Pastor (16 yrs). After 30 years away from Beckley, God led Sam back to Victory Baptist Church in December of 2024 to serve as an Assistant Pastor. In 2014, Sam was awarded with an honorary Doctor of Theology degree from the Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, MI.
Donald Thomas
Assistant Pastor
Donald Thomas, Jr. was raised in southern New Jersey. His family moved to West Virginia while he was a teenager and he began attending Victory Baptist Academy. Donald graduated from VBA in 2000 and then went on to Crown College in Powell, TN. He completed his Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree in Music Ministry there in 2004 and joined the staff of VBC/VBA that same year. Donald and his wife Rhonda were married in 2003 and have two daughters. Donald serves as Youth Pastor and also teaches at Victory Baptist Academy. He completed a Master of Ministry degree from Pensacola Theological Seminary in 2020.
